So we've gotten silver for NTU-NUS, losing to ACJC by a few points, about one question and we've managed to come in top for half of the rounds in the Senior Category.
But somehow, to me, that hasn't been the focal point. The real point of today's victory, was to prove to ourselves that giants can be felled, even though not completely. As a team, we rediscovered our team camaraderie and spirit that we forged, the part that we've lost touch with once the academic year started. But as we laboured over the project, though I admit not being able to do as much as the rest, we rediscovered the fun. We rediscovered the bonds and confirmed them. We went through the rounds, one of the hardest rounds ever for data response, but we still managed to work together. The final round was one of trust where we played to our strengths and managed to lead.
HC Astro has managed to place two teams in the final, we've more than compensated for our terrible defeat last year. We've done well. My team has done well.
I'm proud of you, HC Astro. I'm proud of us, Team 1.
...
Free fencing on Saturday, and I posted two bouts, with 7-0 to Ryan (I insist that fencing someone who has warmed up and gotten used to the suit while totally unsure of how the thingum works is unfair) and winning 5-4 to Zhen Jie, but he's sabre, so it isn't much. Still, right of way and stuff takes a while to get used to, so perhaps that's how it works. You end up itching for more though.
